The Mustang2 has now passed the DHV2 certification in 3 sizes, S, M and L. The Mustang2 shares the same dynamic handling and feel as the original Mustang, but now has better performance in every part of the flight envelope.

The glider has more float at low speeds with a lower stall speed and much better sink rate. At top speed the wing is more stable. The best glide is also better with fewer lines and smaller diameters used throughout the wing.

Even with the thinner lines the Mustang2 achieved a top load of 8 x 186kg in the load test, which represents 12.5g for the Large!!

Soon after the certification of the Mustang2 Airwave had requests from pilots for a Mustang2 Light. This glider is made entirely from Porcher cloth with a hybrid sail using the new very lightweight 27gm porcher for the main sail and with a hybrid leading edge using 40gm cloth for the first colour on the top surface.

Microlines and lightweight risers bring the overall weight of this glider down from 6kg in the standard configuration to just over 4kg in the lightweight version. Currently the Mustang2 light is sold uncertified and will be to order only, but if demand proves strong Airwave will consider certifying this wing.
