Kitesurfing the Irish Sea. Over 9 hours of non-stop riding, over 100 miles, 4m swells...all for charity!
Kitesurfing the Irish Sea

Well done to the team!

"Well we finally did it".

After two years of planning and several false starts the team of; Fraser Dooley, John Flinn, Martin Sandwith, Nick Elliott & Stuart Wood completed the crossing of the Irish Sea from Cloghy in Northern Ireland to Silloth in West Cumbria.

Says Nick Elliott "We set of from Cloghy at 09:00 Saturday and landed at Silloth at 18:00 a distance on the GPS of around 110 miles (177km). "

Nine hours, 4m swells, aching muscles... a down-winder to remember...!

More details will be posted on their website: http://www.cumbriakiteclub.co.uk/ when they have had time to write a report.

Charities to gain from the success of their trip will be the RNLI, NSPCC and Maryport Inshore Rescue.
